INLiSa launches international information-gathering process on lithium and salars technologies

The National Institute for Lithium and Salars (INLiSa) has launched a Request for Information (RFI) aimed at national and international organizations interested in exploring opportunities for technology validation in Chile, within the context of the preliminary design of a potential Lithium & Salars Technology Pilot Platform.

This initiative is being carried out with the support of InvestChile, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Ministry of Mining, with the objective of openly and collaboratively mapping technological capabilities and needs.

“Before defining specific investments or infrastructure, we need a complete and up-to-date understanding of technological demand and validation needs under Chilean conditions,” stated Hernán Cáceres, Executive Director of INLiSa.

This process does not constitute a tender nor a financing mechanism, and participation does not create any commitment between the parties. The responses are non-binding and will be used solely to inform the ongoing technical and strategic assessment.

Who can participate?

Stakeholders specialized in:

  • Technologies for direct lithium extraction (DLE)
  • Brine purification and sustainable brine management
  • New chemical pathways for high-purity lithium products
  • Sensors, materials, and instrumentation for saline environments
  • Modeling, automation, and digital solutions
  • Circular economy and by-product valorization
